Solutions Architect

​

Our Taxpayer Digital Communications program at the Internal Revenue Service is seeking talent solution architects with omnichannel platform experience. 

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Exploring solution options to solve the defined problems/opportunities

  • Identifying and exploring industry solutions

  • Recommending a solution approach and/or industry tools

  • Documenting the assessment method and evaluation results

  • Developing High-Level Designs for new solutions

    • Service View, Technical View, Data View, and/or Operational Views

  • Developing solution/product roadmaps

  • Evaluating new technologies and stay current with a broad range of industry solutions

  • Supporting the Product Management and other stakeholders define use cases, scenarios, and other inputs required to develop a Solution Approach / Design

  • Supporting the Product Manager as required

 

Experience

  • 5+ years experience designing new solutions

  • Background as an engineer

  • Experience in the service industry is an advantage

Business Process Consultant

​

Our Taxpayer Digital Communications program at the Internal Revenue Service is seeking talented process design engineers with business transformation experience. 

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Oversees, manages, and supports ongoing process improvement plans through coaching and leadership. Manages logistics of developing and implementing new process improvement project plans to support IRS department activities.

  • Consolidate resources to define and oversee the process to perform and implement process improvements.

  • Facilitate conversations with teams to arrive at workable solutions.

  • Supports and informs upper-level management by monitoring progress on projects, ensuring all participants have required data to move the project to the next phase.

  • Set up calls and meetings for process improvement activities.

  • Coordinates development of knowledge base and documents, working with consultants, to support change management.

  • Monitors reports on operational data sources in order to find opportunities for improvement.

  • Coordinates internally across IRS departments and externally with partner organizations in support of improvement activities.

  • Work with IT to ensure that business users and developers have the information they need to make progress on projects.

  • Coordinates with external contractors on projects, including web design, help desk content, etc.

  • Attend committee meetings, as needed, to hear the concerns/suggestions of the members, and be on any additional calls as needed.

  • Assists in budget development and projections as related to process improvement activities

 

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of experience in process improvement (preferably 3-5 years of experience with both project management and working in a healthcare setting)

  • Specialized knowledge or experience working with process improvement projects from beginning to end

  • Able to independently complete work responsibilities, participate in departmental policy development, and make decisions that involve analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of available data in non-routine situations

  • Six Sigma certification a plus (Green or Black Belt)

  • ITILv3 certification a plus

  • Agile certification a plus

Leadership Development Facilitator​

​

The United States Navy is currently seeking top-level leadership development facilitators for the NAVFAC NFI101 Leadership Program. 

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate leadership development courses both virtual and in-person

  • In-person facilitation consists of global travel, with some destinations including Guam, Italy, Japan, and Pearl Harbor, as well as the United States

  • Conduct individual and group coaching sessions ad-hoc, both virtually and in-person

eLearning and Online Training Developer

​

The IRS is looking for experienced training content developers to assist with workforce enablement. This position will support the Office of Online Services. 

 

Key duties include:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of overall business strategy by helping the training team, prioritize, and build a learning environment.

  • Work within a small team of eLearning program specialists

  • Implement and administer a Learning Management System (LMS) working with management and information technologists to determine specifications

  • Maintain a functioning user-accessible web portal(s)

  • Use a variety of internet technologies, techniques, and tools such as graphics software applications and object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, CGI, Visual Basic, HTML XML) to create web page elements such as user interface features, site animation, special effects, databases, and e-business applications

  • Codes less complex websites using HTML/CSS/JavaScript, or other web-based programming languages

  • Apply concepts, develops, tests, maintain, and supports high-performance, innovative web-based applications.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting software problems and providing solutions to overcome those problems using the latest technologies.

  • Development of eLearning modules for asynchronous training.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in computer science, adult education, and/or multimedia training materials, Instructional Technology, or a related area.

  • 2-4 years of experience in the Learning and Development technology field.

  • Storyline Articulate experience a major plus

  • Adobe Captivate experience a plus

  • Database experience in Oracle, DB2, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server

  • Experience with open-source LMS (i.e., Moodle)

  • Experience with instructional technology/media tools (i.e., Articulate, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite) and online learning development methods.

  • Ability to collect and analyze data to effectively support performance improvement recommendations and solutions.

  • Experience with selecting and managing technology and other vendors.

  • Big-picture thinker with the ability to synthesize information and formulate a clear strategy and plan for execution.

  • Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and written/verbal communication skills.

 

Desired Qualifications:​

  • Experience in related areas such as video production, software development and marketing are a plus.
